The Road to FearNaught – El Alamein – DAK – Flak 88’s

Hello

A quick update. I finished the Flak 88’s today. They were a lot of fun to paint. In fact I had so much fun I’m about to start painting the 7.62cm PaK36(r) after this post!

I based the scheme off the DAK from the Early War DAK from Hell Fire and Back, with my own take on it. I wasn’t sure this was going to work but once I had finished I was very happy with the results.

Thanks for Looking Ben

  1. Looking good. Love the chipped paint look and the contrast between the crew and the base is really effective!

Is that separate crew base so you can choose whether to use the ROF upgrade? If so, that's genius, I'd have never though to do that! (although in my defence, I've never even opened the 88 box I have!)

  2. Thanks Vladdd.

I'm happy with the way the chips come out, I will be doing it on all of my DAK guns and tanks from now on.

Yes the separate crew is so I have the choice, I'm pretty sure I will almost always take the extra crew as for 10 points a gun it's a bit of a no brainer! But it just gives me the option.

    1. Thanks. If I'm honest I only did the none edging damage to cover a few patchy parts of the paint job, but once I did a few I loved the effect.

  3. Thanks for the kind works zsavk and Paul.

I have a few more guns to post up with the same effect, I'm really buying into the DAK grizzled veteran image
